Empire Blue Cross to extend hours; NBF not so much

Well, our email campaign was only partially effective.
Members and the Executive Board wrote to the National Benefits Fund (NBF) asking for hours to be extended for those of us not on the East Coast.
Hours will be extended by Empire Blue Cross.
However the NBF Board has determined that "all the avenues of communication we currently have are sufficient and have declined to extend the office hours."

The letters and request to extend the Fund Office hours of the Participant Services Center were presented to the Board of Trustees at the last meeting and a discussion was held regarding the hours of the NBF office as well the alternatives to contacting the office via telephone while the office is closed. At this time, the Trustees have determined that all the avenues of communication we currently have are sufficient and have declined to extend the office hours.
I did speak with Empire and they have actually agreed to extend their hours to 8pm for those participants who need to speak to a representative. The phone numbers on the back of the cards are valid and according to Empire, they will have extended hours.
The Fund Office created the website so that participants can access the various information regarding each Fund they receive contributions. Participants can utilize the “contact us” link within the website as well as a separate email address to contact participant services, firstname.lastname@example.org.
While this might not be ideal for those who need to speak to somebody at 5pm PST, it is what the Fund Office currently has in place. Should you or any of your membership need immediate assistance, you can always contact me and I’ll get them the attention they need.
