Request for Permit to Work in Jurisdiction

If you have been contacted by a production to work within the Local 488 jurisdiction of Oregon, Washington, Montana or Northern Idaho, and are a member of another IATSE Local, you are required to obtain permission in writing from Local 488. You will be required to pay the same work assessment of 3% as members of Local 488.

The second page of this form is the Work Assessment Authorization. You will be emailed a pdf of the completed form. This form must be included in your start paper work, or provided to your Accounting department if you have already completed your start work. Your permit will be forwarded to the Local 488 Business Agents for approval.

DISTANT HIRE

You are working in the Local 488 jurisdiction as a Distant Hire and must receive, at minimum, the distant hire provisions in the contract you are working under, which may include:

Transportation (air, train, mileage, etc.) & travel time at the beginning and end of your employment
Single occupancy housing accommodation or allowance
Paid idle days (IDLE should be indicated on time cards)
Per diem
Work time paid as portal-to-portal
Transportation provided from your housing to the daily work site.
